Try to take a moment in the middle of your fear to enjoy this, Akane – it’s the closest thing to a hug Masahiro’s capable of giving you right now!
My wrist is still acting up a bit, so I’m taking it a bit slower than usual this week. This MIGHT impact the update-frequency of Grassblades this month, but I’m not sure about that yet. I’ll be sure to let you know if I make any changes to the update schedule!
Huh. Now that symbol (at least the furthest to the right) looks a bit like a pierced heart. Are these guys like the Japanese Hidden, using ambiguous semiotics to make Christian symbols that could pass for Buddhist to escape persecution? Is it supposed to be the Fifth Wound of Christ and ward off evil spirits? Regular Rorschach blot that thing is.
Still don’t know if it was placed by the villagers or their enemies, but with it being on every door I’m inclining towards the former.
While Grassblades draws a lot of inspiration from Japanese and Chinese sources, I am not copying anything straight off, so you will find no hidden Japanese Christian sects, no ninjas, no Buddhists and certainly no direct references to the wounds of Christ on these pages. Grassblades is not set in Japan: it is set in an imaginary world.
