Wait, is that a faint trace of not-being-a-complete-grump-o-saur I see there, Masahiro? Perhaps your case of grump-itis isn’t terminal after all! 😀
Hey guys! I need some help picking which Tea Witches to put on stickers and keychain charms, so I made a strawpoll! If you’ve got a favourite, please cast your vote! If you can’t pick a favourite, that’s fine too – you can vote for more than one witch!
…honestly, I feel like they need to stop somewhere and get supplies. Of course that’s probably my own cultural spin on it–I wouldn’t mind just leaving my home one day and going on an adventure, but I’d get provisions and things!
They will be passing through a town in the next chapter, and while the reprovisioning won’t be happening on screen, it will be happening. Masahiro doesn’t have a lot of spare cash lying around, so he mostly gets by on handouts, barter and doing minor favours for people in return for the barest necessities.
This adventure wasn’t exactly, uh, PLANNED all that well by Masahiro when he began it. ^_^;
That’s the only one you got? How did you get all the blood out of it? I thought you switched it for a new one.
It is, yes! And while I haven’t shown it on-screen yet (it’ll come up eventually), he DOES in fact clean himself and his clothing occasionally. In convenient rivers and ponds. Whenever he comes across them.
… He probably smells quite a bit, to be honest.
So now I’m kind of wondering, what exactly is that sleeve thing on his right arm? Is it supposed to be some kind of armor or something? Did anybody ever actually use clothing like that?
It’s a simplified variant on the armored sleeve worn by warriors in Japan, known as a kote. It was worn beneath the chest armour and overcoat. The real-world historical kote looked a bit like this. Much of Masahiro’s costume design is based on historical Japanese fashion and traditional wear.
